Indian Pines Elementary celebrated the “Love the Bus” campaign with their bus drivers and attendants. The campaign was founded in 2007 and is coordinated by the American School Bus Council (ASBC) to raise awareness and appreciation for the thousands of school bus drivers in the country.
To show their bus drivers and attendants how much they appreciate everything that they do the students wrote their names on magnets, in the shape of lips, and stuck them on the buses. Additionally, thank you messages were displayed in the school’s marquee and each one received a sweet treat.
“We really love our bus drivers and attendants! They’re wonderful, caring, helpful people and it’s a pleasure to work with!!” said Laura Lougee, Principal.
The School District of Palm Beach County proudly participates in this national campaign to ensure that students and parents learn about the safety and environmental benefits of the school bus transportation. According to the National Academy of Sciences, a child is 13 times safer in a school bus than the average other ways to get to and from school.
